Who doesn’t love a good brain teaser? They can appear super simple but then end up leaving you stumped for hours! Such as this simple drawing/illusion that was created by Kumar Ankit. Since it’s been shared online, it’s quickly gone viral and people have been left absolutely clueless as to what the correct answer

 


The drawing was created by Ankit on quora.com and since then it’s been shared hundreds of times on Facebook. It’s just a simple sketch that appears to be some triangles. The mission is to count how many triangles are in the image.It’s been shared hundreds of thousands of times on Facebook and there has definitely been a wide variety of answers with answers ranging from 4 to 44! I guess everyone sees this illusion a little different, and that’s what makes it so great!This brain teaser has left thousands of people scratching their head, do you think you might be able to figure out what the answer is? Thousands of men and women have taken to the comments section trying to come up with the correct answer to this crazy triangular illusion. Did you figure it out or do you think that you need the help of an actual mathematician?



Although some people may say there are only four triangles, the correct answer is actually 25. There are 24 triangles contained within the image, as well as a secret one you might have missed in the artist’s name. Don’t see it?

It’s pretty easy once you understand the strategy. There’s six in the top row–three individuals; two pairs, and one triangle made up of all three. There is also six in the second and third rows and in the fourth using the same strategy. Martin Silvertant, a mathematician, created this graphic to help better understand the solution and strategy.
